Customer Profile: Andersons Bogensourie
Having used a prototype of the new John Deere 960 baler last year, brothers Robert and Brian Anderson, of Bogensourie Farm, Strichen, are looking forward to taking ownership of the real thing this summer.
In addition to running the family’s beef and arable farm, the Andersons have operated their own contracting business for the past 14 years. Within a 25-mile radius of Strichen, their work involves mainly baling and wrapping, so a reliable baler is an essential item.
They previously had a McHale, before switching to John Deeres, and they felt this new model exceeded their expectations.
“Last year, we baled around 8500 bales with the prototype, which gave us a good idea of its capabilities,” said Robert.
“We were pleased with the results – it was fast and produced good shaped, hard bales. We averaged about 80 bales an hour, and in good conditions, up to 100,” he added.
The family will be one of the first in Scotland to own a 960 baler, but having had five John Deere tractors now, they know to expect a top quality machine and service.
“We’ve always been happy with the quick and reliable service we have received from John Deere and HRN – that’s why we have returned to them for the past 13 years,” said Robert.
