Get to know Dean Sharp
Dean Sharp started with the company in October as a Construction Technician at our Stirling depot. We wanted to give you an insight into Dean’s work experiences, why he decided to join the team, and finally what he likes to do when he isn’t in the workshop.
Tell us about your work experience?
I have worked in the construction industry since I left school, so 10 plus years. Over these years, I have worked with both the Kubota and Hyundai brands and have learned so much about the brands and also the industry.
What made you join the team?
It was a really easy decision for me, I would get the best of both worlds, as I could work on Hyundai machines as part of the Agritrac business and when HRN announced they were becoming an official Kubota dealer, I knew it would mean that I would also get to work with the Kubota franchise too. This opportunity excited me as I had such a positive experience working with Kubota in my previous employment. It just felt like the right fit for me and my career.
What do you like most about your job role?
For me, it has to be preparing and prepping the machines to the customer’s specifications. It’s great working with a professional team to make sure that everything is correct for the customer and then hearing great feedback from them, it makes it all worthwhile.
So what are your interests outside of work?
When I’m not in the workshop, I love spending time with my wife, two daughters, and our puggle, Willow. I also enjoy doing MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) training. I got into this at a charity event, though I have never fought, I just enjoy the training and discipline.
I have a passion for cars and currently drive or should I say my wife drives our MINI Cooper S 5-door, and my claim to fame is that the car appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and Mr Simon Cowell drove it! In the future, I hope to be the proud owner of an Audi RSQ3 – it is my dream car.
